Powerball players are gearing up for a historic jackpot.

With no one claiming the prize on Saturday, Aug. 30, and no one bringing home a win in the latest drawing on Wednesday, Sept. 3, the Powerball jackpot is now at its second largest in the game's history ― a whopping $1.8 billion.

The pot grew by more than 100 million with less than 48 hours to go before the next drawing.

The lucky winner who pulls all five winning numbers has the option to receive a lump sum payment of $826.4 million before taxes.
