Prince George’s County police have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the murder of a missing 19-year-old woman.

Authorities confirmed that the body found along Route 50 in Anne Arundel County is that of Dacara Thompson, who had been reported missing from Prince George’s County.

Hugo Hernandez-Mendez, 35, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and is being held without bond.

According to investigators, surveillance footage captured Thompson speaking with the driver of a black SUV during the early morning hours of Aug. 23 before entering the vehicle.

Police later tracked the SUV to a residence in Bowie, where Hernandez-Mendez lives.
