Easton active-duty firefighter has died at the age of 33

The Easton community is mourning the loss of an active-duty member of the city’s fire department.

Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr. on Friday announced the death of Easton Fire Department Firefighter Tyler Weidner.

Weidner died during the early morning hours Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio reports.

The cause and manner of death were pending further tests following an autopsy.

Weidner joined the fire department in July 2021, and was the son of another Easton firefighter, Kevin Weidner, according to Panto.
