SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WSMV) - General Motors is set to cut output at the assembly plant in Spring Hill, according to a report from Reuters.
The report states that this is the latest automaker to pull back on electric vehicles in reaction to President Donald Trump’s scaling back of federal support for EVs.
GM will be stopping production of two electric Cadillac SUVs at the Spring Hill plant during December.
“GM also plans to significantly curtail production of those vehicles during the first five months of next year by temporarily laying off one of its two shifts of workers, according to the sources,” Reuters reported. “The company will additionally shutter the plants for one week in October and November.”
