It was a beautiful late afternoon last summer when Mike Morreale was getting ready to go onto the field for a reunion of the 1999 Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ Grey Cup team. Suddenly, he felt like he was experiencing an eclipse.

“You look beside yourself and there’s this six-foot-nine guy standing there,” the retired slotback says.

That was Seth Dittman. The giant on a roster of giants.

The offensive tackle and dressing room favourite died on May 31 at his home in Texas. He was 52. Most of his former teammates just found out this week.
