Ahead of their series in Cincinnati, the Mets made a number of roster moves. Kodai Senga, who the Mets approached about a stint in the minor leagues to work on his recent issues, accepted an assignment to Triple-A Syracuse. Taking his place on the roster is Wander Suero, the former National/Angel/Dodger/Brave who was claimed off of waivers yesterday. Additionally, catcher Francisco Alvarez was reinstated to the major league roster after a stint on the injured list and backup catcher Hayden Senger was optioned to Syracuse.

Since returning from injury on July 11th, Senga has had a rough go of things, seeing his ERA more than double in that time and only recording an out in the fifth inning or later in three of his nine starts. With just over three weeks left in the season, the Mets are hope
