KENNEWICK, Wash. – Kennewick police officers asked drivers on Bob Olson Parkway to follow traffic laws after several citing motorcyclists for speeding.

Recent crashes in the area led police to recognize the danger speeding there can pose to pedestrians, said the Kennewick Police Department.

One patrol officer near Bob Olson Parkway and South Sherman Street drove past a radar going 72 miles per hour. When the officers tried to pull the driver over, the motorcyclist sped up to between 80 and 100 miles per hour and escaped .

Kennewick officers said that they think the driver lives in the neighborhood after someone reported that the driver circled back into the neighborhood after escaping the officer.
