CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia Lottery Acting Director David Bradley says the jackpot for Saturday night’s Powerball jackpot has grown to an estimated $1.8 billion, the second largest jackpot in Powerball history.
“It’s really an exciting time,” Bradley said Friday on MetroNews Midday. “This jackpot has created excitement around the whole country.”
No one has hit the jackpot since June.
“It’s a life-changing (amount),” Bradley said. “There’s a lot of amounts that are life-changing. We’ve had some 100-thousand dollar winners and one million dollar winners,” he said.
The drawing is set for 10:59 p.m. Saturday.
Bradley said maybe there’ll be a West Virginia winner.
“We’re see Saturday night, keep your fingers crossed,” Bradley said.
