Frozen vegetables sold in six states and Washington, D.C., are being recalled due to potential listeria contamination. The recall affects Endico Potatoes Inc.'s 2.5-pound bags of frozen peas and carrots, as well as mixed vegetables. The products were distributed between July 18 and August 4, 2025, in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Florida, and Washington, D.C.
The affected products include: - Peas and Carrots: Lot 110625, production date 6/11/25, use-by date 6/10/27 - Mixed Vegetables: Lot 170625, production date 6/17/25, use-by date 6/16/27
The recall was initiated after testing at a distributor in Pennsylvania revealed positive results for listeria monocytogenes. As of now, no illnesses have been reported related to this recall.
Listeria monocytogenes can lead to serious infections, particularly in vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. The bacteria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women. Symptoms of listeria infection in healthy individuals may include fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled frozen vegetables are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For further inquiries, customers can contact Endico at 1-800-431-1398.
