JACKSON, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - An Aiken County man was sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison for producing child sexual abuse material (C-SAM).

Adam Sloan, 40, from Jackson pled guilty to the charge after an FBI investigation.

The FBI conducted a search of his home on April 18, 2023 after an internal investigation of an illicit online marketplace on the Dark Web.

The discovery highlights ongoing debate about Georgia’s “Safe Place for Newborns Act,” which allows parents to surrender babies 30 days old or younger without facing prosecution.

During the search, agents found evidence of the abuse on electronic devices and found the abuse happened in his home during parties and sleepovers.
