MUNCIE, Ill. (WCIA) -- Julie Wahls and Jessica Aquino of the Muncie Fall Festival Planning Committee joined WCIA's Taylor Mitchell to talk about their annual Acorn Festival.

The Village of Muncie was settled in 1875, so they are celebrating 150 years with some historical items for people to look at. Wahls said the planning committee is talking about having a time capsule for attendees to put things in so that it can be opened in the future.

New to this year's Acorn Festival is the appearance of Sleepy Creek Vineyards. Just last year, Muncie was a "dry" community. But in November 2024, a local ordinance passed to allow the sale of alcohol in the village, reversing a ban that lasted nearly 100 years.
