LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Laredo Police Department has confirmed that they responded to a possible overdose related death.

On Thursday, September 4 right around 3:30 p.m. officers were sent to respond to a call regarding an unresponsive person at the block of 3700 block of Main Ave.

When officers reached the scene, they were met with a 57-year-old man in the front yard of the residence. Officers had to initiate CPR.

Officers had to call for assistance from the fire department and determined that there was no sign of life.

The officers on the scene located controlled substances and drug paraphernalia next to the victim, indicating a possible overdose death pending the autopsy report from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
