Riverside firefighters and police officers next week will display gear, offer tips on what to do in case of an emergency and provide a host of demonstrations during an event to mark National Preparedness Month.
The annual “Public Safety Preparedness Expo,” held every September, is set for noon on Saturday, Sept. 13, in the parking lot for the Galleria at Tyler Mall.
“This year’s theme, `Preparedness Starts at Home,’ emphasizes the importance of creating emergency plans and building disaster supply kits,” according to a Riverside Fire Department statement. “Our goal is to encourage individuals, families, schools, businesses and neighborhoods to take proactive steps toward emergency preparedness.”
