STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Evidence surrounding the 2023 murder of Evelin Barajas Perez was “horrific.”

Justice Raymond Rodriguez, the borough’s top administrative judge, made that point clear Friday before handing down the maximum allowable sentence to the woman’s boyfriend — now 27-year-old Roberto Martinez.
