CLEVELAND, Ohio – Travel is stressful. Petting dogs can help.

A new program at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport aims to alleviate some of the pressure of flying by bringing therapy dogs into the terminal to interact with passengers.

“Even if you don’t realize you are feeling the tension of traveling, spending a minute or two with one of our dogs can help in ways you didn’t know you needed,” said Megan O’Connell, assistant director of marketing, communications and guest experience.

The dogs (and their handlers) will interact with passengers at various locations on the secure side of the airport, although there is no set schedule for the meet-ups yet.

O’Connell said travelers should check the airport’s social media sites to learn when and where the dogs will be located.
