League play begins for most of the Monroe County Region football teams this week.

The Huron League and Lenawee County Athletic Association kick off with two of the biggest games of the season.

St. Mary Catholic Central and Flat Rock, who both debuted with impressive wins over playoff teams last week, will clash at Flat Rock tonight in a battle of Huron League heavyweights.

Meanwhile, Ida will host Hudson in a showdown between two teams that might be the best the LCAA has to offer.

Those games highlight a slate 11 Region games tonight.

Whiteford will play Harbor Beach Saturday in a battle of two teams hoping to finish the season in state championship games at Ford Field in Detroit.
