Third-seeded Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe notched a 6-4, 6-4 victory over top-seeded Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova on Friday to win the U.S. Open doubles title in New York.
It marks the second time in three years that Dabrowski of Canada and Routliffe (born in Canada, playing out of New Zealand) won the title.
Dabrowski, 33, was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2024 and missed part of last season. She's now back in top form.
"Erin, what a wild ride," Dabrowski said to her 30-year-old teammate in an on-court interview. "It's been absolutely crazy. We've been through so much together, and I feel extremely grateful to be standing here as a champion alongside you today. It means the world. Thank you for sticking by me, thank you for the support -- and yeah, we rock on
