ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) — A Grants man was arrested and charged with murder on Thursday in connection to a shooting death at a Roswell mobile-home park. Roswell Police Department confirmed on Friday that Marcos Prieto, 40, has been booked into the Chaves County Detention Center.
Prieto is accused of shooting and killing Colton Porter, 21, of Roswell. Investigators say the two had an ongoing conflict when Prieto allegedly showed up at Porter's residence and broke a window while calling for Porter to come outside. Porter armed himself with a knife before going outside. Other people in the residence say they heard gunshots moments later, and saw a blue pickup truck speed off.
