WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A human case of West Nile virus reported by the Trumbull County Combined Health District has been confirmed by the Ohio Department of Health, according to the District.
It's the first human case in Trumbull County. A sample tested positive for West Nile in Trumbull County early this month. The sample was collected at Hillside Cemetery in West Farmington.
Mosquito samples have tested positive in nearby counties, including Mercer County, and Allegheny County reported its first human case in August.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, most people infected with West Nile virus do not develop any symptoms.
