PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – After two days of training at the beginning of the school year, 35 Brady Middle School eighth-grade WEB leaders were ready to help the sixth-graders transition to middle school more easily.

WEB is an acronym for “Where Everybody Belongs.”

The training was under the direction of guidance counselors Sarah DiBenedetto and Cindy Massey.

The WEB leaders serve as role models and mentors to the new-to-the-building students and work to promote a positive school culture by reducing the younger students’ anxieties in a friendly, welcoming and safe environment, according to a news release from the Orange City School District.

The eighth-graders provided support for the sixth-graders, which also allowed the eighth-graders the opportunity to practice and enhance their leadership
