Computer problems from Thursday morning’s cyber attack at the Orleans Parish jail caused temporary halts on the release of defendants who paid court-ordered bonds, a bond agent said, who described breakdowns more significant than “isolated” impacts described by Sheriff Susan Hutson.
“Anyone who’s in jail who's been arrested the last few days — we don’t know anything,” said Amber Dennis with Steve’s Bail Bonds. Her outfit has three clients stuck at the jail who already posted bonds, including two who paid Wednesday — a day before the attack, which came around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
