Drake men’s basketball added another commitment to its roster on Friday, Sept. 5, this one coming from point guard LJ Rush out of North Carolina.

The 5-foot-10, 168-pound guard chose the Bulldogs over offers from Arizona State, Boise State, Central Michigan, Florida State, Jacksonville, Nebraska, Oregon State, Radford, Rutgers, San Jose State and UT-Arlington, according to 247 Sports.

Rush – originally a three-star athlete in the class of 2026 – will reclassify and join Eric Henderson’s squad this season.

He played for 1 of 1 Academy last season, and he helped his team to a 22-4 overall record during his junior season. He led the squad with 15.1 points per game, and Rush averaged 4.9 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game, according to MaxPreps. Looking for a free mini puzzle?
