LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Automobile design company The Shyft Group, formerly known as Spartan Motors, was sold to a new owner. The company designs and engineers specialty chassis, vehicles, truck bodies and aftermarket parts. Shyft's headquarters were in Novi, Michigan.

The Shyft Group was sold to Aebi Schmidt Group, a Swiss company that manufactures agricultural machinery and heavy equipment.
