A HUGE NFL star has announced his shock retirement just a day before the start of the 2025 NFL season.
Amari Cooper quit the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday just hours before the campaign kicked off.
The wide receiver has decided to hang up his cleats following a $136.6 million career.
Cooper was selected as the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Raiders.
He stayed with the team until 2018 for a change in his Pro Bowl career.
The wideout only signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Raiders last month.
However, nine days after signing the deal, he has changed his mind.
He has now stepped away from football aged 31.
Cooper was a member of the team's practice squad.
