One person is in critical condition and another is recovering from minor injuries after a wreck Friday in Huntsville, according to police.

About 11:30 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Drake Avenue and Downing Street. One driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition, while the other driver sustained minor injuries and was also transported for treatment.

The Traffic Homicide Unit responded and conducted the on-scene investigation. Preliminary findings show that one vehicle was turning from a side street onto Drake Avenue when it pulled into the path of another vehicle traveling on Drake Avenue, causing the collision.

At this time, police said no charges are expected in connection with the accident.
