A multi-vehicle crash on I-90 near South Chicago prompted delays and traffic during rush hour Friday afternoon.

Around 3:40 p.m. Friday, a multi-vehicle crash on the eastbound Chicago Skyway near 87th Street, authorities said.

Illinois State Police confirmed two vehicles would be towed from the crash but did not immediately provide additional details.

As of 4:20 p.m., traffic on eastbound I-90 was backed up from the Skyway Toll Plaza near 87th Street to Stony Island Avenue, according to the website Total Traffic. Drivers faced delays of up to 5 minutes and stop and go congestion.
