CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- Volunteers didn't just fill a busload today in Cumberland County. They filled three.

The United Way of the Capital Region's annual Day of Caring, volunteers packed school and health supplies into busses to support districts in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties.

"Our families are struggling in this region and across the country, so it's hard," said Kathleen McKenzie, vice president of community affairs for Highmark Blue Shield. "It's hard to buy clothing. It's hard to buy food. The last thing you want to do is pay $5 for a box of pencils, so anything we can do is just really helpful for our struggling families."
