PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria’s community and art leaders came together Friday morning to celebrate the latest mural in the downtown area.
“Play Greater” was recently installed on the Adams Street side of the Jefferson Parking Deck, and features a bright colorful backdrop of Peoria landmarks with people playing.
Bob Doucette is the artist behind the mural.
“I really wanted to show people being joyful, and also I wanted to show what a diverse community we had as well, without being specific, but basically showing that it’s a colorful city to live in,” Doucette said.
Doucette says he wants people to feel happy when they see the mural.
