A man was arrested after attempting to convince Bremerton police that he was a law enforcement officer from out of town.
According to Bremerton Patrol Captain Aaron Elton, the suspect appeared at an active police scene near downtown Bremerton and claimed that he was an off-duty detective with Edmonds Police. A statement from BPD said he arrived in an unmarked Ford Explorer with blue police lights flashing, and wore body armor with "SWAT" logos and an Edmonds Police badge. Photos shared by BPD indicate the man was around MLK Way, just off Warren Avenue, at the time of his arrest. Bremerton police announced the arrest on Friday, though the specific time of the incident was not immediately confirmed.
