JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) - Latoya Latty, a first-grade teacher at Hardeeville Elementary School (HES), has been selection as the Jasper County School District Teacher of the Year.

Latty has taught for 19 years. This is her 9th year at RES.

When asked why she became an educator, Latty said, “My students are my motivation to teach. The experience of sharing in the growth and development of world-class citizens and future leaders is enough to inspire me every day. Teaching for me is not just a career; it is a calling!”
