Class 6A/7A second-ranked Vestavia Hills earned a pair of home wins on Tuesday, including an impressive 19-7 decision over No. 4 Spain Park. The Rebels (7-1) beat Ruben S. Ayala of Chino Hills, Calif., 27-0 in the opening game of the tri-match.

Standout quarterback Julia Rose threw for 295 yards against the Bulldogs from the West Coast and 234 against Spain Park. Rose hit 29-of-40 with 4 touchdowns against Ayala and was 18-for-29 against the Jaguars, with 3 touchdowns and an interception.
