PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Following a crash in Washington County that resulted in a motorcyclist being seriously injured, the involved driver was arrested and faces multiple charges in connection with the incident on Wednesday.

On Thursday, authorities arrested 30-year-old Cristhian Carranza of Forest Grove, who is now facing multiple assault charges and other crimes, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.

Carranza was driving a 2012 Toyota Highlander eastbound on SW Johnson Road early Wednesday morning when he allegedly crashed into the oncoming motorcyclist while trying to pass another car in a non-passing zone, authorities said.
