A teenager initially detained for a fatal shooting now faces upgraded charges after a months-long investigation.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a fatal shooting in Lutz on August 17, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect, Anthony Williams, was initially detained at the scene on the 1000 block of Helena Street after a verbal dispute with 34-year-old Joshua Benjamin escalated into a physical confrontation and shooting. Benjamin was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
