COLUMBUS, Ohio — Gun control is back in the national conversation following the shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis during a school mass.

A shooter fired bullets through the church windows, killing two students and injuring 21 others.

On Friday, students across the country engaged in school walkouts, protesting gun violence and demanding lawmakers pass a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

Central Ohio students participated in the walkout at Olentangy Orange High School, according to Everytown for Gun Safety.

Ohio Sen. Jon Husted said he does not think gun legislation is the solution to the issue of mass shootings.

“I don’t believe at this point that the gun law is a solution to this problem,” he told 10TV.
