ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The race was on Friday afternoon to find the New Mexico State Fair's fastest pig. The Great American Entertainment Company hosts their pig races at the state fair. The company has been part of the fair for many years and hosts five shows every single day. "The kids actually get to be a part of the show, that's why I have these fun flags here..They get to get a racing flag and cheer their pig on to victory, so definitely fun for all involved," said Sarah Roitsch with the Great American Entertainment Company.

Each race has a different theme, and each competitor has a name to match. One includes their Pirates of the Caribbean theme with names such as Captain Jack Spare Ribs and Elizabeth Swine. For their Disney theme, one of their pigs' names is Smellsa
