TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WSAV) - Massive recent rainfall events have been a nightmare for some Tybee Island residents, especially those who live along Jones Avenue.

"You're ankle deep in water for days," said Harry Zaloumes, who lives on Jones' east side near 8th Street.

The third sewage spill in just three months happened Aug. 23.

Sewage water from Horsepen Creek has been spilling into the area of Jones Avenue and 8th Street during rainfall.

"All the people who live on the east side of Jones have to suffer through cars driving through ankle deep water and throwing huge waves of water into their yards, and they're ankle deep in water days," Zaloumes told WSAV.

Zaloumes said when it rains, he not only deals with extreme flooding in his yard but mosquitoes.
