Volunteers from Team Rubicon, a veteran-led nonprofit humanitarian organization, will be in Yolo County on Saturday, Sept. 6, to assist the Dunnigan Fire Department in protecting their community from the increasing dangers of wildland fire.
A local Dunnigan property is overgrown with vines, grasses, and trees that pose a wildfire risk to the community. This one-day operation is possible because of the critical support from the Dunnigan Fire Department, Yolo County, and the greater Dunnigan community.
Team Rubicon volunteers, known as Greyshirts, perform mitigation operations year-round to ease the wildfire risk on vulnerable communities nationwide, including in 50 projects across California in 2024 alone.
