Macaulay Culkin was just 8 years old when he starred alongside the late John Candy in the 1989 comedy “Uncle Buck.”

Culkin, then a child actor, was accompanied on set by his father and former manager, Kit Culkin, from whom he would later sever ties . In the new documentary “John Candy: I Like Me,” he recalls how Candy was among the first to sense that something was off about his dad’s behavior, a dynamic that only worsened after the box-office success of “Home Alone” the following year.
