LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Hundreds of students walked out of a Louisville high school on Friday, standing up for their own safety and demanding stricter gun laws.

Since the deadly shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis that killed two young children, students across the country have been showing their support.

That motivated Manual High School students, led by members of the group Students Demand Action, to walk out at 12:45 p.m. on Friday.

Many held signs and chanted "No More Guns" and "Enough is Enough" for about 20 minutes on the lawn in front of the high school.

"We should not feel unsafe going to schools, going to public places," senior Joanna Lee said. "Our school is supposed to be a sanctuary for learning and we should not be having to practice lockdowns or in case of a shooter.
