WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Senate Bill 12 , known as the Parent’s Bill of Rights, is proving to be difficult for school districts to get finalized before their deadline.

There are many areas of school programs and curriculums covered in SB 12 that parents need to give consent to, like sex education and gender studies.

School districts in Central Texas are making sure parents give or deny consent in they want for their child’s medical care in their school’s nurses office.

Parents now need to be clear of what they want for their child’s health care at school, opting in for different services school nurses can provide or opt out, if they choose to take their child off campus to seek help.
