MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A man who attacked and tried to murder a Department of Child Safety caseworker in a Mesa office building during a livestream last year has learned his fate.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced on Friday that De’Andre Terrell Johnson was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison after being convicted on multiple charges.
On Nov. 5, 2024, Johnson was recording a meeting with the caseworker in the lobby of “The Mesa Tower,” located near Alma School Road and Southern Avenue , which also houses a branch of the DCS. He was also livestreaming the interaction on Facebook.
Johnson was angry with the caseworker for interviewing his daughter alone in a room during an investigation.
