CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Today, the city of Bondurant unveiled its new water tower thanks to federal funding.
The funding was part of the 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act and granted $2.5 million dollars to the city for the new tower.
Mayor Doug Elrod says the million gallon water tower will help the city of Bondurant with long-term growth, “Water is the life of residents and businesses, and it’s an absolutely essential, necessary item for for our folks.”
Representative Zach Nunn says it also helps the state’s need for clean water, “Making sure that we’ve got the quality water that is needed for the fire department to be able to get on site for economic growth, and this doesn’t need to be just a big city solution.”
