UNCASVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) — The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame will add two more former University of Connecticut players over the weekend.

Former WNBA players Sue Bird and Maya Moore will forever be enshrined along the all-time greats of the sport.

Bird and Moore were in Connecticut on Friday for the Hall of Fame red carpet gala at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Among every stop of their basketball careers, Moore and Bird were always elite performers: high school, college, WNBA and internationally.

Moore and Bird were part of an impressive class that also includes Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and Sylvia Fowles.

Geno Auriemma will help present each at the induction ceremony on Saturday night in Springfield.
