BOISE, Idaho — A group of Idahoans is paying tribute to the LGBTQ+ community through chalk. As Boise Pride begins this weekend, volunteers created a rainbow mural along the crosswalk at 8th Street and Idaho.
Organizer Ryan Goodman told KTVB the display is partially inspired by the memorial for victims of the Pulse massacre in Florida. That memorial was recently removed by Orlando officials , according to CNN. He also said volunteers were inspired to create the display in light of increased violence towards the LGBTQ+ community , especially under the Trump administration.
