Differences between the emergency departments and urgent care

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Depending on the situation, a patient may need to go to an emergency department or an urgent care/same-day care facility, but knowing the differences between what these facilities can do can make a big difference in care.

“Urgent care is not an emergency department, and that's really very important to understand,” said Dr. William Brady, a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia Health System.
