President Donald Trump is rebranding the Department of Defense, signing an executive order Friday making its secondary name the " Department of War ."
Veterans who spoke with NBC10 Boston Friday had mixed views on the change.

"I'm a proud American, I'm proud of the fact that I served, and would do it again if called upon," said Gene Hartigan, who served in the U.S. Army and fought for his country in Vietnam.
But he questioned the new name.
"You're sending a very bad message around the world," Hartigan said. "After all of this time as being the Department of Defense, you're suggesting that we're going to become the aggressor."
He said he doesn't like the image it will create internationally.
