BRISTOL, Tenn. – It’s NASCAR time in Bristol, Tennessee. Again.

Following a record-setting adventure with the MLB Speedway Classic on Aug. 2 at Bristol Motor Speedway, the transformation for the Sept. 11-13 Night Race weekend is basically complete.

BMS president and general manager Jerry Caldwell provided the update during a Wednesday afternoon press conference.

“It’s amazing to look around and see all the work that has been done and think there was a Major League Baseball field here last month,” Caldwell said. “The facility looks incredible and we’re ready to host some NASCAR playoff racing next weekend.”

The bold shift from baseball to NASCAR represented just the latest high-stakes makeover for Speedway Motorsports senior vice president of operations and development Steve Swift.
