A push to find and train budding Paralympians ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games has taken place in Alice Springs.

The town held its own Mini Paralympics, a day-long event featuring a range of sports including athletics, wheelchair basketball, boccia and badminton.

Alice Springs 14-year-old Quade Stone, who has cerebral palsy, said he loved playing wheelchair basketball and hoped to make it to the Paralympics in seven years' time.

"It's pretty cool, seeing people [with] disabilities [here]," he said.

" It's sort of saying, 'You're not alone in this situation, you've got other people around you to take care of you.' "
