The Righetti girls tennis team is in the win column for 2025.
The Warriors yielded just 13 games total in a 9-0 sweep of Santa Maria in a non-league match at Righetti Thursday. The Warriors moved to 1-2. The Saints' season record was unavailable at press time.
"It feels great to get that first one," said Righetti coach Lindsay Fonseca, who is in her first year as Righetti's varsity coach after coaching the girls junior varsity team there last year.
"The girls did awesome."
Righetti scored a sweep despite missing two regulars. Singles players played an eight-game pro set in the non-league match instead of the customary best-of-three sets Central Section format. Doubles teams played the standard eight-game Central Section pro set.
