FARGO — The cell phone of Isiah St. Romain got a little crowded in the ensuing moments of North Dakota State’s 38-0 over The Citadel on Saturday afternoon. The last five minutes got football fans in Williston, North Dakota, buzzing.

That’s when the redshirt freshman receiver, a Williston High School graduate, caught his first career touchdown pass, a 15-yarder from Nathan Hayes that accentuated St. Romain’s fast climb up the Bison depth chart. Those who followed him in high school took notice.

“My phone was going a little crazy,” St. Romain said.

He entered the game No. 2 on one of the three receiver spots behind senior Chris Harris. NDSU’s depth has never been better at the position, so St. Romain said he wasn’t really expecting to play a whole lot against the Bulldogs.
